Schlumberger Sema has expanded their RTEMS implementation for AMR with We Energies of Milwaukee WI. According to Rob McEver, Director, Alliances and Event Marketing at Schlumberger Sema, the original AMR implementation contract was sold in 2001 for 650,000 natural gas and electric meters. Their expanded contract is for an additional 350,000 electric meters, bringing the total meters on the system to 1 million. We Energies has over 2 million electric and natural service points in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Meters not on the RTEMS solution within We Energies service area are read manually. Key drivers to the sale include reduced manual meter reading, metering and billing accuracy, on-demand meter reading, real-time pricing, TOU, outage management, restoration verification, and transformer and distribution load management. RTEMS is an outgrowth of Schlumberger Sema's acquisition of CellNet.(www.slb.com)
